Do not mistake an ungodly soultie for a soulmate.

An ungodly soultie is the knotting together of two souls that God has not intended to be united. It is a linkage in the soul realm between two people.

When God places two people together, as in a soulmate, their souls link together and bring fourth beneficial results. On the contrary, when the devil and his demonic forces cause one to unite with another in an ungodly soul tie, their souls link together and result in negative results.

Soulties can be formed from:

*Sexual relationships (physical sex and even verbal and oral sex)
*Emotional manipulation
*Abusive relationships (physically, sexually, emotionally, verbally)
*Adulterous affairs or Sex before marriage (fornication)
*Obsessive entanglements with a person (giving them more authority in your life than you give to God)
*Controlling relationships
*Shared life experiences
*Personal tragedies
*Loss of a loved one (obsessing over it)
*Flattery of the prideful
*Consoling another
*Reaching out to the lonely and becoming too involved
*Being vulnerable in any way to one who is not capable of properly handling your vulnerability (Note: This is how many foul spirited counselor's take advantage of their patients and subjects).

Soulties are powerful and manipulative, as they are pulled and guided by Satan himself. You may feel that it's innocent but it is unmistakably a means to misguide and destroy God's plan and purpose for your life. Satan always brings counterfeits into our lives to form unhealthy soul ties. He knows the wrong connection, if made to form a ungodly soultie, will lead us into places that God has not intended for us.

An ungodly soultie can also be formed with a thing, even an inordinate object such as a car. Anything that is able to grab your attention and control your mind (keep you obsessed over it), can be used by Satan as a soultie. People who idolize the famous to the point of stalking them and visualizing real life fantasies have formed subconscious soulties with these celebrities without even coming into contact with them!

Jezebel with her seducing spirit (which I have taught on in the past) was so skilled at manipulation that she persuaded her husband to act wickedly, to the point where God vowed to curse him and take his life. Here is the account of what ensued after Jezebel included her husband, Ahab, in a conspiracy to possess the vineyard of Naboth through trickery and murder:

1 Kings 21:17-29

[And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.

And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.

And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.

Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,

And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.

And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.

Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.

But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house.]

Here, Ahab did not devise the complete plan to kill Naboth but he was tied to the evil Jezebel and thus he was punishable by God. This is why we must be careful in who we form unions with, by business endeavors, marriage, friendships, and even mere associations.

So what are the tell tell signs of an ungodly soultie? (Taken from "4 Indicators Of Wrong Soul Ties" by Terri Savelle Foy Ministries with added points by me)Full article can be found here.

1. You feel confused
When you are outside the will of God in a particular relationship, you will experience confusion. Your feelings will tell you one thing; your spirit will tell you another. That’s where the confusion comes in. “God is not the author of confusion but of peace” (1 Cor. 14:33, KJV). If you are not experiencing peace in this relationship or “soul tie”, then something is not right. That is the Holy Spirit warning you and working to get your attention. You need to respect these warnings. They are not to be brushed off or treated as a small thing. Honor the Holy Spirit’s leading in your life. You should not feel confused if you are in the will of God, and honestly, why would you want to be any other place? When you are confused about a relationship, you can make unwise, regretful decisions. You need to take purposeful steps in feeding your spirit the truth of God’s Word. The truth always overrides deception.

2. You are miserable.
The constant thought and drive of obsession will wear you out as it takes over your life.

When we persist in doing something that we know God is not in agreement with, we will experience a type of misery that doesn’t go away. You may feel uneasy inside, extreme anxiety, sorrow or pain. You may feel disgusted by what you’re doing, yet feel powerless to change your situation. Those are all indicators that Satan is at work in your life to destroy it. David cried out in Psalm 38:8, “I am exhausted and completely crushed. My groans come from an anguished heart.” (NLT). If that describes how you feel when you’re alone, I want you to know there is hope. Psalm 23:3 says, “He restores my soul” (NIV). Those four little words will redefine your life. God will restore your mind, your will and your emotions, if you let him!

3. Your mind is tormented.
The mind of Christ is one that is at peace no matter what the circumstances. When Satan has invaded our souls through wrong soul ties, our minds will not be at rest. This is where your battle takes place. Is your mind constantly replaying images of the past and rehearsing previous conversations like a broken record? Do your thoughts produce fear or make you feel unclean? Whatever is going on in your mind is affecting your emotional state.

Your feelings are indicators of what you are thinking about. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says that we are to renew our minds by taking “captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (NIV). I will be the first to admit that this is not easy, but it is necessary. You can do this. As a Christian you can get your thoughts under the control of your reborn spirit. How? By speaking God’s Word out of your mouth every single time a negative thought enters your mind. Don’t just think it, speak it. It can be as simple as saying: “Thank You, Lord, that you restored my soul”… over and over and over. Be persistent. There’s nothing Satan hates more than to hear you speak the Word of God and the name of Jesus out of your mouth!

4. You disobey God and it seems on purpose, although you don't really want to do wrong.
It's as though something is making you do these things. Your will to do good has been cancelled out by the strong urge to engage in this tormenting situation. You feel as though, "I just can't help myself" or "I just can't stop". In actuality, you have committed yourself to walk in disobedience to God. You have committed yourself to walk in sin, as all disobedience to God is sin.

If you feel like you have been dealing with a situation for far too long and nothing seems to help you get beyond it, remember this phrase: God will not advance your instructions beyond your last act of disobedience. If you don’t fully obey what God is telling you to do, you will never move beyond your current circumstances.

Ungodly soulties are powerful once formed and will lead you to do all sorts of wrongs against the Lord. The good news are they can be broken and your life can be reclaimed. You must cry out to God and allow Him to severe the tie in the spirit, so that your mind, heart, spirit, and soul can be taken back from the devil's control. You must cry out and relinquish it all to God. Say this:

Lord, I need your blood so that I can LIVE.
I need your spirit so that I can live right.
I need your mind so that I can think right.
I need your heart so that I can treat others right.

Transfuse me Lord! I want a transplant of YOU!

FIX ME LORD! I NEED YOU LORD!

Finally, I will say, be encouraged and live your life for the Lord. The more you live in Him and walk in His ways, the stronger your mind will be in Him, and you will be able to avoid these ungodly soulties from forming. Don't leave the door open for Satan, lest he see it and invite himself in.
